Happy early Christmas- Brett has waited for years and now he has what he's always wanted a pool table. It looks like I better learn to play. I have horrible aim.
The car is finished- Its been restored- Brett is happy to have it in our garage

Thanksgiving Dinner at the Bailey's- Wow what a group! Chase insists on hiding

Caught you!!!! Happy Thanksgiving (2009)

"Maddness and Mayhem"

Soccer Tournament in St. George- The Harmon family joined us. We had a great time. Sadley enough Chase lost all three games. Its an unfortunate disadvantage when you play teams from St. George and Las Vegas. They are still practicing 2 and 3 times a week. We haven't practiced for a month now. A happy little side note Chase scored a goal while playing defense. Way to go!!! Not to mention we ate like pigs (In n Out, Pizza Factory, Cafe Rio and Chilis) Whew

Team Captains- Chase and Ryan Wood

Chase's birthday party- He and a few friends took a dive at the South Jordan Rec. Center.

Chase and Jackson there is a restroom for that!!!!

What a bunch-Jackson Marchant, Chase, Ryan Wood, and Tyler Beckman
(Kyle met us at the pool)

I had Chase convinced that I made the cake- funny
(then he realized his mother doesn't have the patience for stuff like that)

Halloween 2009

Wow can you believe it Halloween is already here. Chase and Amanda both decided to be Viking fans. PERFECT we didn't have the expense of costumes this year. Amanda told Brett and I that she would be trick or treating with friends. The next thing we know Chase made the same plans. So Brett and I were home by ourselves while the two of them tackled the neighborhood. This growing up thing is for the birds
What a good sport. Make up and all. Brett and I headed off to a Halloween party. We had a great time with friends.
Chase made the comment several times that he likes mom with blonde hair not dark. Good thing cuz this dark stuff isn't happenen.
Number one fan. Perfect year to be a Viking Fan. Sevcn and one at this point.

She went trick or treating for a little bit. But it didn't last long. It isn't quite as cool when your 13. Notice there aren't any pictures of carving pumpkins. I tried and tried to drag these two down to the pumpkin patch. They weren't interested at all. There was either a football game out back, or friends on the phone to contend with.

Summer Fun: 2009

We have had a crazy summer. Busy Busy Busy!!!! I feel like all I did was laundry, grocery shopping, packing and laundry again. But as you can see it was all well worth it. Brett and I had a chance to spend close to a week down at Lake Mead on a houseboat. We went with 7 other couples. What a blast!!! We decided to speed down to Vegas so that we could make it to the opening midnight showing of Transformers. It played at 12:30 a.m. their time (which made it 1:30 a.m. our time). Needless to say I slept through the entire show. We headed to the lake and spent 5 awsome days wake boarding, surfing, jet skiing, joke telling, game playing, and swimming. Wow now thats what I call a vacation.

Our next trip was our annual trip to Snowbird with Brett's family. Although our tirp was cut a little short. Amanda had girl's camp that week and Chase was playing in a soccer tournament. We spent a lot of time swimming, hiking, playing games, chatting and best of all eating!

This picture was taken at the look out. I love Snowbird in the summer.
Nathan (Chase's cousin) Chase and Me

Girls camp here we come. Amanda is on the far right. They had to meet at the church at 6:30 a.m. Amanda had a great time. Although if you ask her she will tell you the five mile hike was the pits. PLEASE, what's five miles- he he

Chase played in the Cache Valley Soccer Cup. WOW it was hot (record highs that weekend in Logan). Lets just say the temperature at game time was around 98 degrees on the field. He played four games in the heat. He hustled and really played his heart out. Dad and Mom were proud.

Chase and his buddie Ryan decided they needed a little energy boost before playing their second game. Brett and I gave in and let them get an AMP drink (even though mom kept saying they aren't good for you- it may even make you sick- what does mom know anyway). Chase decided real quick into the game that he will NEVER do that again. With the heat and the drink, he was SICK!

Our fourth trip was to Idaho. It was Grandma Maughan's 95th birthday- Lookin good Grandma. We stayed in Bancroft. We went to the 24th of July parade there and just hung out with family. Brett found a way to get in a round of golf at the Country Club in Pocatello and then off to the reunion/ birthday party.

Bancroft parade- July 24, 2009

Seriously we came home with a ton of candy. This parade is a dentists dream.

Chase started school on July 27th. I can't believe he is in 5th grade. My baby is growning up. His teachers name is Ms. Taylor. He really likes her. The first thing he said about his teacher when he came home from school was, "mom she went to BYU, she must be cool." We all agreed! Chase does well in school. He could care less about reading, math, spelling, science etc. His concern is, "what are we going to play during P.E. and recess." A boy right after his mom and dads heart. I always get a play by play report on the soccer game at recess or how many pop flies he caught while playing kick ball or wiffle ball during P.E. time.

July 27, 2009
We took our 5th and final summer trip to Bear Lake. The entire Ashworth family was there. We had a great time. We spent the day boating on Friday. Thankfully we got it in then cuz Saturday and Sunday it rained and was cold. But we didn't let that stop us. We got in several games of badmitton, croquet and cards. We roasted hotdogs and marshmellows by the campfire. I was just greatful for a little heat. I forgot to take my camera so there are no pictures of this trip. Hopefully my cute sister in law will email me a few and then I will add them to our blog.
Well my summer is coming to an end. I start back to school this Friday. Amanda begins the eighth grade on Wednesday August 26th. I always have such a hard time wanting to go back to work. But I must say that during these difficult times I am just greatful for a job. We have loved our summer and now its time to get back into reality- bummer. Thanks to my sweetheart Brett I have been able to play at the pool several times, catch a few movies and attend lunch dates with my friends. I also got quite a bit done on my honey to do list (cleaned all the windows and blinds, sanded and stained the deck and bench, cleaned out my cupboards and pantry, went through the kids bedrooms, rearranged furniture and cleaned out their closets). So I feel like I accomplished a lot this summer. Well thats it for now. I hope to update more often so that my posts aren't so long each time.

Here it goes

Hey how are all of our friends and family doing? I have been told many times that I needed to create a blog. I kept using the I don't have any time excuse. Well its summer break and YES I do have a little extra time on my hands so here it goes.

Life in the Bailey house continues to keep us hoppin. Brett is playing on two softball teams this summer. He loves playin ball. I wonder where Chase gets it? He plays on a work co-ed team as well as a friends men's team. Honestly put him out in left field and he will catch anything. He is still working but summer tends to be a little more slow in the life of an accountant (thank goodness for that).

I just finished another fabulous school year. HE HE!!! Wow those junior high kids really do start getting to you come May. I put my application in for a vice principal position. Things aren't looking so good this year. With budget cuts and district positions being eliminated, there aren't any new positions available. I just continue to keep hoping. If not I have to be grateful that I have my job teaching. Don't get me wrong I enjoy teaching. I am still trying to recover from knee surgery. It is amazing how quickly you loose what you've worked so hard to gain. Unfortunately due to doctors orders I am unable to run and races this summer. I had several in mind and had to cancel. It has been extremely hard to watch my friends train. I wish I was right there with them. Oh well I WILL be ready next year.

Amanda just finished her first year of junior high school. We are so proud of her and the grades she received. Her cumulative GPA is right around a 3.8. SIS you rock!!!! We also signed Amanda up for soccer this fall. She is excited but a little nervous. This will be her first official season on the field. She loves hanging out with friends, going to the district shopping and texting (the typical teenage girl things).

Chase made it through the 4th grade with flying colors. He will be sad to lose his teacher. She was amazing. He loves being challenged. His only problem is that he has a difficult time paying attention. He is a little chattie child. I guess you could say he got that from his mom. Chase loves sports of all kinds. Really, what 10 year old boy spends his tv time watching sports center. Chase decided to play another year of comp. soccer this coming fall and spring. He tried out a few weeks ago. He made the premiere team. With a lot of hesitation and the desire to play basketball this winter he decided to play down a level. He is excited and can't wait to hit the field once again.

We are hoping to vacation a little this summer. Our trips will be close to home. I will have to keep you posted. Well that's it for now. I plan to keep this updated. I guess we will see how it goes.
